We know what innovation is. We know it when we see it.
Also, we know why innovation is necessary.
But we’re more hazy about where it happens…
Sure, we can point to ‘X marks the spot’ after the event. And in a while, there may be a number of ‘X’s clustered together.
But we might confuse the surface manifestation – individual visionaries, physical location – for the underlying genesis.
Simply, I think it’s people on the edge bumping into people on the edge.
People who are already curious about things that those in the middle aren’t even questioning. Who then connect with views beyond their own that shifts their perception. Seismically.
Which results in a completely new recipe – innovation soup.
Let’s have more meeting at the edge. Not just more meetings.
