Walking in step with valley time

Time is different here in this place.

And I suspect it is where you are, too.

Yet we tend to assume time is ours to use – like a resource – when we don’t own the clock.

Dark comes early
and with it, rain.
that valley time
is different.

We do not see
with eyes alone,
nor navigate
with maps
drawn elsewhere.

Instead, we bend
to the flow
of water,
and the murmurs
of animals.

Life is not nine to five…
