The long view

Yesterday, on the longest day of the year, I took this long view of the lake.

The day, like the lake, stretched out before me. Yet with the awareness that this day, was like no other.

At this inflexion point of the year, the long view is surprisingly open.

The usual noise has stilled, and things that a while ago seemed so important have receded.

Our diaries are not full of summer plans, and we tentatively look up to see what’s next.

This is a moment of possibility—a pivot point for a different conversation.

The long view is here if we want to see it.
