The dignity of names

What we call ourselves and each other is really rather important.

We can confer dignity and identity or we can denigrate (particularly if we use the ‘us and them’ kind of language).

So how we choose to name ourselves makes a difference. And just how much of our inner world we reveal is a huge thing. It takes courage because it could be misunderstood.

Therefore it’s good to know that this process of naming is not a one-off exercise. It matures over time and we actually need each other to do it well.

So what’s the best thing that you want to bring out, to share, to name?

I am really proud of my friend who has just started putting his name out there and sharing his thinking on things related to humanitarian aid, change and technology as This is Amos
