Seeing through the weeds

Here’s the thing about weeds: sometimes they are and sometimes they’re not.

There are many things in life which when they’re in the wrong place at the wrong time are weeds. They choke us up and prevent us from flourishing.

However, let’s not always assume that what feels out of place hasn’t got a purpose to serve.

Like night. When we’re in the middle of darkness it can feel hopeless.

Yet night has a purpose and if you listen for the dawn and it will surely come.

‘Faith is the bird that feels the light
when the dawn is still dark.’

Rabindranath Tagore, quoted by Gideon Heugh in Devastating Beauty
