What happens when we read? How do we listen and who do we listen to?
It’s easy to consume words on a page like eating a snack. Fulfilling our need for an energy burst, without really thinking about what we consuming. It’s just there, to hand.
If reading is just about accessing information, then it’s a minimal affair.
Instead, what would happen if we consumed more intentionally, savouring each mouthful, like a really good meal?
I think we’d be listening to voices. The authors and ours.
And I wonder what we would hear…
