Keeping watch – a midweek Pause for Peace

I appreciated Yvonne Smyth’s observation earlier in the week that changing the word from waiting to watching creates a different energy.

Developing the practice of watching shifts us from being passive, especially in places where we have no direct control or influence.

And Yvonne is far from passive!

We can become overwhelmed by being exposed daily to the horrors of wars and acts of atrocity around the world through the media.

But we can intentionally bear witness and stand in the unseen realm with those who should not be suffering in this way.

This is keeping watch.

And we can do it together, wherever we are.
