Hope is an expectation with confidence.
It’s the motivation that something is worth doing or believing. And even if we can’t control the outcome, the effort or orientation is worth it.
Hope is a state of mind. But whilst it often has a warm feeling, its genesis might be rooted in desperation: ‘This can’t be right…’
It’s what pushes us to believe there can be a better way. What I do or say matters, even if I’m not going to be the one ultimately benefitting.
Hope is infectious.
But let’s not confuse hope with certainty, nor judge it by the warmth of our emotions.
Hope changes things.
