When you travel,
A new silence
Goes with you,
And if you listen,
You will hear
What your heart would
Love to say.
+ John O’Donohue, from For the Traveller
Early last week, a good friend sent me an excerpt from this John O’Donohue blessing.
I was surprised by the sense of urgency that it evoked in me.
The calling of a new silence to listen, cut through the layers of rhetoric swirling around.
And the suggestion that there is more that our hearts want to tell us opened up a well of hope in the face of generic fear.
This is time for intentional movement. Yet, I suspect we have a lot to learn together.
Because the old navigation charts are no longer fit for purpose.
