Being Open – a midweek Pause for Peace

When we’re tired and emotionally worn out, it’s comforting to close in.

To protect our inner being from the messy world

Yet today, we choose to stand, even if for a moment, with those whose world is in the throes of war. Who have no direct control over what happens to them and their families.

Choosing to be open.

Holding peace
as a hidden gift
shared in the chaos
of destruction.

Small acts of mercy
from hearts of love,
human words
for human beings.

This is who we are.
