Be More Poet – a midweek Pause for Peace

Maya Angelou’s son, the poet and novelist Guy Johnson, offered profound insight into the relevance of poetry in a time of war.

“Poets can be truly courageous people who are willing to stand up for what they believe. Who else to say what needs to be said but a poet? In times of pain, you need to know that other human beings have felt as you feel. And that feeling is not confined to race or class or issue or country or nation. It is the heart of the human being.”
